iiG research aims to address the institutional constraints on achieving pro-poor growth in Africa and South Asia. The selection of themes and projects is driven by a dual objective: creating high quality academic research with a direct relevance for policy. The overarching research narrative is that differences in economic opportunities determine which institutions are likely to be important for pro-poor growth.
